Federal Corporation is one of the top 100 vehicle tyre manufactures in the world. In 1993 alone we produced over 2 million tyres. From the mixing of raw materials to the extruding, calendering, cutting, building and curing, each Federal tyre meets the most rigid quality control standards.

Management System

Federal's operations are based upon a fully integrated information system. In 1974, Federal Corp established it's first Computer Operations Centre. This centre has been responsible for the development of information systems and training of MIS specialists.

In 1982, we expanded our Operations Centre and created Federal Computer Corporation to capitalize on over a decades worth of experience and market growth. FCC's area of responsibility includes the development and support of hardware systems, hardware consultation and sales, information management and training, business management consulting and data processing services.

Research and Development

The mission of Federal's R&D team is to develop creative and innovative concepts into reality. Currently our R&D team of over 30 engineers are actively involved in the development of aircraft tyres (APX), off-road vehicle tires (ORX), and rubber peripheral products such as steel and rubber conveyor systems, high pressure steel/rubber hose, golf products, rubber gloves and more.

Corporate Milestones

1954 - Company Established by Mr. Ma Chi-san in Chungli City, Taiwan R.O.C.
1955 - The company is officially registered as the Tayfeng Rubber Industries Company Ltd. with a capital of NT$3 million. Manufacturing and marketing rubber belts, transmission V-belts, and related products.
1958 - The first complete line of tyres is introduced.
1961 - Technical relationship established with Bridgestone Tire Co. Ltd. Japan
1963 - R.O.C. CNS Trademark Award
1964 - Corporate name changed to Tayfeng Tire Co. Ltd.
1965 - Commenced exporting tires, American DOT Approval given.
1979 - The company's first public offering significantly increases operation capital
1981 - Technical relationship established with Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. Japan.
1982 - American U.T.Q.G. Approval
1984 - Japanese Ishikawa Quality Award
1985 - R.O.C. Golden Commerce Award
1986 - Ford Quality A Supplier Award
1987 - The Federal Tire brand is introduced. The product line receives international recognition and several design and production awards including the R.O.C. Award for Excellence in Manufacturing. Japanese JIS Certificate issue
1990 - Total paid-in-capital exceeds NT$846 million. (US$33.8 million) Ford Q1 Award, GM/Opel Award
1992 - First 50-55 series VR tire made in Taiwan
1993 - Honda Quality Award
1995 - ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Certification
1997 - QS-9000 Certificate
1999 - ISO-14001 Environment Management System Certification. First 40-45 series VR-ZR tire introduced.
 2001 - Federal wins Gold Award at 2nd ASEAN Promotion Seminar.
 2002 - Mass production commences of 30-35 ZR tire.
